Our Pupil Yeraly Zholzhaksy Becomes Absolute Champion at UK First Lego League Championship
Our pupil Yeraly Zholzhaksy, Year 9, has become an Absolute Champion at the UK First Lego League Championship.
The championship took place in Harrogate on 25 April and was organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. This year, 68 teams from the UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Slovakia and other countries competed for the title.
Yeraly competed as part of the Astrobot team, representing Kazakhstan alongside pupils from KIS, NIS, Fizmat and Quantum STEM schools. The team qualified for the UK championship after winning the Central Asia First Championship held in Astana in February.
In addition to the robot game, the team presented artifacts.kz, an online database of Kazakhstan’s archaeological artefacts. The project was praised by judges not only for its technical quality, but also for its contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage.
